School has been in full swing for well over a month now. Have you caught up on this year’s fall trends? If not, I’ve put together some pictures showcasing two of my favorite fall trends of 2015: Metals and Leather & Hide.<\/p>\n

Trend: Metals<\/p>\n

Shiny metals are a personal \u00a0favorite of mine, and we’re seeing metallic finishes applied to various textures. Metals don’t have to feel cold and uninviting;\u00a0CB2’s Gliterati Pillow<\/a>\u00a0has a casual vibe that works with many styles of decor.<\/p>\n

The polished nickel finish of\u00a0Williams-Sonoma Home’s Mason Desk<\/a>\u00a0is sleek and shiny, but the sawhorse legs have a cool, industrial vibe, making this piece work in either masculine or feminine spaces.<\/p>\n

A simple, inexpensive way to add metallic flair to your space is with accessories. The\u00a0Two Piece Urchin Set<\/a>\u00a0from Dwell Studio and\u00a0Sand Mercury Hourglass<\/a>\u00a0from Wayfair.com lend a hint of metallic flair without overpowering the existing decor. And if golden retrievers are your thing, the\u00a0Ken Fulk Retriever Bust<\/a>\u00a0would be a perfect addition to your office, bookshelf, or built-in cabinetry.<\/p>\n

Trend: Leather & Hide<\/p>\n

You’ll be seeing a lot of hide this season, from throw pillows to furniture upholstery. But my favorite spot to place hide is more traditionally, as a rug. Hide instantly adds warmth to a space. It works with a variety of decor styles, from rustic to ultra-modern to transitional.\u00a0Serena and Lily’s Scalloped Hide Rug<\/a>\u00a0is oh-so chic, and the\u00a0Hide Beige and Silver Rug<\/a>\u00a0from Arhaus combines both trends I’m mentioning here: hide and metal. If you aren’t digging the real hide, or if it’s out of your budget–it’s expensive–you can easily find faux hide rugs at major retailers.<\/p>\n

CB2’s 1938 Tobacco Leather Butterfly Chair<\/a>\u00a0is a fun piece that’s made sophisticated with the warm \u00a0color. It would look great as an accent piece in a casual space.<\/p>\n

Another great accent piece is the\u00a03 Piece Nested Faux Pony Boxes<\/a>\u00a0from wayfair.com. These boxes would look great stacked together in an office, \u00a0bedroom or even a bathroom, and let’s face it: we all need more storage.<\/p>\n

What I love about both of these trends is that they can be done on as small or large a scale as you’d like. Being trendy in a small way is budget friendly and perfect for those of you who are afraid of making a big commitment. Whether you’re going for these trends in a large or small way, I love that there are plenty of options that incorporate them into a variety of personal styles.<\/p>\n
